St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer center to be given Comprehensive Cancer Center status by the National Cancer Institute, and in 2017 was named the nation’s number 1 pediatric cancer hospital by US News & World Report. We are recruiting highly motivated individuals, committed to clinical excellence, to join our growing Hospitalist Medicine Program as a member of the clinical-track faculty. Under the supervision of the hospitalist medicine program director, the faculty member will attend on the St. Jude chemotherapy service, provide oncology consultations, and treat patients in the inpatient and outpatient acute care setting. In this capacity, team members will work a combination of day, evening, and overnight shifts, and some weekends. As an integral member of the hospitalist team, the faculty member will be responsible for working with the nursing staff, advanced practice practitioners, oncologists, and primary and subspecialty physicians to ensure quality clinical care for St. Jude patients.

Opportunities exist for the faculty member to continue existing clinical research, collaborate in quality and patient safety initiatives, and engage in clinical education. The environment provides ample opportunities for teaching and education of trainees (resident and fellow level). Candidates with a previous track record in clinical research will also have opportunity to build upon their previous clinical research experiences, if desired. The faculty appointment will be housed within the Department of Oncology (unless research interests are more appropriate elsewhere).
