The Department of Pathology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a molecular pathologist at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Member level. The position is on the Clinical track, with 80% effort devoted to clinical service and the remaining effort will be focused on translational research and career development.
This recruitment is taking place at an exciting time in the development of our Division of Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology. Following on from the success of the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project, the department developed a Clinical Genomics Laboratory in which whole genome, transcriptome, and exome sequencing is performed and clinically reported. These approaches are now standard of care for nearly all patients at St. Jude. We are particularly interested in advancing our expertise in hematological malignancies, with a particular focus on developing novel molecular approaches in the evaluation of minimal residual disease.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, is one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Children from all 50 states and from around the world have come through the doors of St. Jude for treatment, and thousands more around the world have benefited from the research conducted at St. Jude - research that is shared freely with the global medical community. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is denied treatment because of a family's inability to pay.
St. Jude is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free work place. Candidates receiving offers of employment will be subject to be pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
Applicants should submit a letter of application, academic statement, curriculum vitae and the names of three referees directly online.
